About Us
USS Albany Division – U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps
"Bend, Don’t Break."
Our Division The USS Albany Division is a proud unit within the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, based in Glenville, New York. While we operate within the framework of a Navy-based youth development program, our mission reaches far beyond drills and uniforms. We prepare cadets to lead—with purpose, with character, and with resilience.
Our Namesake: USS Albany (SSN-753) Commissioned in 1990, the USS Albany (SSN-753) is a Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine named after Albany, New York. Leadership Philosophy
Our goal is to grow cadets who are not only disciplined and reliable—but also thoughtful, resilient, and independent. We believe leadership is earned through experience, not just titles. Cadets in this unit will be challenged, supported, and held accountable, so that they emerge with life skills they can use anywhere—on a ship, in a classroom, or at the front of a team.
